Children’s mosaic classes
Children love making art. And after more than 20 years of teaching art to children, Paul and Lisa have found the kids they work with especially enjoy making mosaics.
Mosaics combine the colour coordination of painting, the shaping skill of sculpture, and the problem-solving of a puzzle into one extraordinary artistic medium.
Workshed Mosaics’ children’s classes are designed to be as immersive and enjoyable as possible, with a clear structure that guarantees a finished product they will be proud to share.
How it works
The popular school holiday mosaic class for children is held in one three-hour session at the Greenwood Mosaic Studio.
Due to our heavy workload with other projects, we are only running morning sessions for one week of school holidays.
Please check the booking calendar, because sometimes classes will straddle two weeks
Class price per child is $80 including GST
Pupils work with two mosaic art teachers, who have a valid Working with Children Check.
The maximum class size is 12.
Children create and piece their mosaic from a huge pre-cut range of coloured tiles, glass and mirror in a supervised environment.
The class includes a snack and drink for morning tea and the finished piece is grouted and fixed with a hook, ready to hang and show off to friends and family.
Mosaic shapes
Workshed Mosaics offers an extensive list of mosaic shapes to choose from.
The downloadable PDF lists all shapes alphabetically and shapes that are suitable for younger children are indicated on the document.
If you choose a house number, please let the team know the number in your booking, so they can draw it up ahead of time.
All shapes must be chosen from this list. You must enter your shape choice at the time of your booking.
Bookings received without a shape choice are subject to cancellation.
Please note there is a $10.00 fee to change mosaic shapes, so make a careful choice.
